Error 2030: Referral Issue Date must not be before Patient Date of Birth

Code 2030: Referral Issue Date must not be before Patient Date of Birth. Error located in Medical Event 01.

When does this error appear?

This error will usually appear when attempt to send any type of claim to Medicare where the Issue Date of the referral is before the patient's Date of Birth.

What does this error mean?

Either the patient has the incorrect DOB entered in the Patient Details tab, or the Issue Date entered on the referral was before the patient was born.

How do I resolve this error?

Check the Patient Details tab of the patient's record and confirm the correct DOB is entered here. If that is entered correctly, check the Referrals section in the same window and open the current referral for the patient. Ensure the Issue Date for this referral is after the patient's DOB, save and close out of the window.
