When you create a consult, you can enter the Reason for Encounter - the patient's presenting problem. If you have a list of common presenting problems, you can create a list to allow these as selections when writing consults.
You can add your commonly used consult reasons in Settings > Reasons for Encounter.
- Navigate to Settings > Reasons for Encounter.
- Select the plus icon.
- Enter the name for reason.
- Select the SAVE button.
There is no limit to how many reasons can be added, however this list is intended for conveniently adding the common problems in your consults. Therefore, too many reasons for encounter may make this feature difficult to use.
You can edit or delete a reason for encounter in Settings > Reasons for Encounter.
To edit, click on the reason from your list and amend the reason name. Once complete, select the SAVE button.
To delete a reason, you can select this from the list and choose the DELETE button.
To select a reason for encounter on your consult note, you can click in this field and choose from the list. You can also type into this field, and Gentu will suggest items based on your Reasons for Encounter list.
Alternatively you can simply freely type into the Reasons for encounter field when adding a new Consult Note.
