This page can be used to configure email functionality in Gentu. Once configured, you will be able to Email a Quote, Invoice, or Receipt to patients.
Before beginning to email documents to patients, you will need to configure your email settings in Gentu.
- Navigate to Settings > Email Settings.
- Tick the Enable email checkbox.
- Specify an email address for sending accounts.
- Configure your signature.
- Select the SAVE button.
Specify Email for Correspondence
If email is enabled in your Gentu, you must also choose which email account will act as your general practice correspondence address.
Please note that this needs to be a real, existing, email account - its inbox should be accessible to you (or someone at the practice) in case patients respond to their email.
This email will also appear to the email recipient as the sender, and if the patient replies to the email, responses will go directly to this email address.
Under the Email template heading you can preview an example of how the email will appear to patients when they receive their document.
Currently, the email template is not able to be edited, however you can make changes to the email at the time of sending.
In this text editor you can edit your email signature as needed.
For instance, you can
- add an image or logo to your letter,
- change the text colour
- lightly edit the text formatting
In the example above, we have also inserted references which will ensure information is populated automatically. The available references are:
Reference | How it Appears | Where is it Set? |
---|---|---|
Practitioner (Provider) |
{{ practitioner }} | This is the provider's name, which is entered in Settings > Manage Users. |
Practice Name | {{ practice_name }} | This displays the practice name, as shown in the top right of Gentu. This is set in Settings > Practice Preferences. |
Phone Number | {{ practice_phone }} | This is the practice phone number, which can be set in Settings > Practice Preferences. |
You can add an image to your signature by clicking the add image icon .
After adding an image you can resize it by using the resize toggle options.
Alternatively, you can enter a numerical value in the Custom field. This will determine the size of the image (in pixels). This may take some trial and error to set a suitable image size.
