In today's climate, we understand how the COVID-19 pandemic may have severely changed the way you deliver healthcare. With the Australian Government expanding consultation services available via telehealth, we want to ensure you have all the available tools to assist you in continuing to deliver essential healthcare to your patients.
Genie Solutions have partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to develop a new telehealth consultation tool, TeleConsult, using their Chime technology.
We will be offering our integrated product free of charge until further notice.
To use TeleConsult, you will require a valid mobile number or email address for each of your patient appointments.
Setting up and using TeleConsult
To start consulting, you can use the Join button in the patient's details.
Clicking on this will launch TeleConsult in a new window.
The SMS and Email address will be automatically populated from the patient record where possible, so you will not need to re-enter this information.
If it does not populate, you can enter this manually and click Send Invitation.
You can adjust your audio/video outputs at any time by clicking on the Settings button. If you need to mute your microphone, disable your video or adjust the volume at any stage during the consultation, you can do so using the buttons below, which are displayed at the bottom of your web browser.
Once you have concluded your consultation, simply click the button to be taken back to the home page, where you can easily enter in another patient's details and start another consultation.
Once you have completed your consultations for the day, ensure you click the Logout button to successfully log you out.
Once you click the SEND SMS INVITATION button within your TeleConsult browser, an SMS or email will be sent to the patient with a URL link to the telehealth consultation. When they click on this link, they will be taken to their default browser.
They should be prompted to allow the web browser access to their microphone and camera.
Once they allow access, they will need to enter in their name, select the correct microphone and camera outputs, then click to join.
Once in the consultation, the patient can adjust their settings using the Settings icon or temporarily switch off their microphone, camera or speaker using the below buttons.
When the doctor has ended the consultation, they will be presented with the below page, which they can simply close out of.
For desktop devices, including laptops, the following browsers are suitable for use with TeleConsult:
