Item exceptions are returned directly from the receiving body (Medicare, DVA, and/or the private health fund), i.e., they are not generated by Gentu.
Where possible, the receiving body will return self-explanatory exceptions. For example, an exception stating "referring doctor provider number is incorrect" can be fixed by amending the referring doctor's provider number in the Address Book before resubmitting the claim.
If you are not sure what an exception means or how to fix it, look in the Common Exceptions article to see if it is covered there.
If the exception is not listed here, you are welcome to contact our support team for advice.
You may also wish to view the Department of Human Services' page on claim exception codes.
Alternatively, you can contact the receiving body directly to enquire about the exception.
In some cases, if the exception is particularly unclear, Gentu Support will advise you to speak with Medicare/DVA/the health fund in order to determine how to fix the exception.
