It has come to our attention that recent changes have been made by the private health fund, HBF, with regards to their fee schedule.
For all states excluding Western Australia, HBF will now use the AHSA fee schedule for all inpatient billing.
In Western Australia, HBF will continue to use their own gazetted fee schedule.
If your practice operates in a state other than Western Australia, we ask that you update the HBF fee schedule settings in Gentu to ensure you are using the correct health fund rebates.
- Log in to Gentu and navigate to Settings > Health Funds.
- Select HBF from the list of funds.
- Select a provider to open the Practitioner Details window.
- Select AHSA from the Fee Schedule drop down menu.
- Enter the maximum known gap amount, then save.
Note that you'll need to update these settings, including the maximum known gap amount, for each billing provider in the practice.
Please note that the ability to calculate an AHSA gap amount on a Known Gap HBF invoice is not currently possible - the gap amount will need to be set manually per item. We are working on adding this functionality and anticipate that it will be available within Gentu in the coming weeks.
If your practice operates within Western Australia, no changes are necessary, and you can continue to bill HBF using the current HBF fee schedule.
